Unau Day 2025 was joyfully observed on June 26, 2025, at the Malsawm Ability Resource Centre (MARC), Pearsonmun, Lamka under the theme “Me & My Unau Against All Odds.” This year’s celebration was especially meaningful as the entire event was organized by interns of Centre for Community Initiative (CCI).
Unau Day, also known as Siblings Day, is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the important role of siblings of children with disabilities. The event highlighted the bond, support, and shared journey between siblings while promoting awareness and appreciation for their contributions.
The celebration featured special performances, including a presentation by the CCI faculty and a duet performance of “A Million Dreams” by Class X student Mr. Khumlalven and intern Ms. Chingnunhoih Guite. A heartfelt sibling appreciation activity also allowed students and guardians to share letters expressing gratitude and appreciation for their siblings.
The event concluded with games, bonding activities, and a lively photobooth session where students, parents, and staff shared moments of joy, interaction, and togetherness.
