Centre for Community Initiative (CCI), in collaboration with the Rengkai Village Authority and with support from the SBI Foundation, successfully organized an Awareness on Disability and UDID Enrolment Camp on 27 July 2026 at Rengkai Community Hall.

The programme commenced with an introductory session by Paul Rozarlien, who introduced the work of CCI and spoke on understanding disability, the rights of persons with disabilities, and the importance and benefits of the Unique Disability ID (UDID). This was followed by a session on the Types of Disability, facilitated by Hoikim.

The second half of the programme focused on UDID enrolment and follow-up services, providing on-site assistance to persons with disabilities and their families in accessing disability certification and related government benefits.

A total of 38 participants attended the camp. During the programme, 10 persons with disabilities were newly enrolled for UDID, 5 existing UDID records were digitized, and 3 UDID records were updated.

The camp reflects CCI's ongoing commitment to increasing awareness, improving access to government entitlements, and promoting the rights, dignity, and inclusion of persons with disabilities within the community.

Mental Health Initiative (MHI) of Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) conducted an awareness session on Understanding Trauma for the residents of Molkon Village, a community predominantly comprising internally displaced persons (IDPs). The programme was organized in collaboration with Innpi Commerce Chamber – Life (ICC-Life) and brought together approximately 50 adults.

The session focused on helping participants understand trauma and grief, recognize common emotional responses during times of crisis and uncertainty, and explore practical strategies for healing, coping, and building resilience. Through open discussions and shared learning, participants were encouraged to better understand the emotional impact of displacement while fostering hope and mutual support within the community.

CCI remains committed to promoting mental health awareness and strengthening psychosocial support through community-based initiatives that create safe spaces for healing, resilience, and recovery.

Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) successfully concluded Project MindLink Barefoot Counsellor Training on July 17, 2026 at the Mini Auditorium, Gospel Centenary Hall, New Lamka, following three intensive weekly training sessions conducted on July 3, 10, and 17, 2026.

The training brought together 59 participants from diverse backgrounds, including pastors, reverends, community volunteers, and other community members. Through interactive sessions, participants gained practical knowledge and skills in mental health awareness, understanding stigma and culture, identifying individuals in need of support, basic psychosocial care, active listening, psychological first aid, and referral pathways. Upon completion of the programme, participants are now equipped to serve as Barefoot Counsellors, supporting mental well-being within their respective communities.

Project MindLink is a community-based mental health initiative of Centre for Community Initiative (CCI), supported by Petronet LNG Limited. The project aims to promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma, strengthen community support systems, and improve access to mental health services in and around Lamka.
