As part of the ongoing preparations for the establishment of the Child Development Centre (CDC), Chandel, the outreach team conducted a series of visits to villages and institutions across the district to strengthen community engagement and build awareness about the centre's services.
The team visited Lamphou Pasna Village, Chandel Christian Village, Modi Village, Cheengkhu Village, Japhou Village, Thotchanram Village, Hnahringkhu, and Monsangpantha, where meetings were held with village chiefs, ASHA workers, and community members. These interactions focused on introducing the objectives of CDC Chandel and discussing the importance of early identification, intervention, and support for children with disabilities.
In addition, the team met with representatives from the One Stop Centre, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Little One's Kindergarten, and St. Teresa Kids School. The visits provided an opportunity to establish partnerships, share information about the centre's services, and explore collaborative approaches to supporting children with disabilities and their families.
The outreach activities aimed to create greater awareness about the role of the Child Development Centre as a one-stop facility offering developmental, educational, therapeutic, and community-based support services. They also helped strengthen referral networks and encourage community participation in promoting inclusion and access to services.
Through these engagements, CDC Chandel continues to build meaningful partnerships with local institutions, frontline workers, and community leaders to ensure that children with disabilities receive timely support and opportunities to reach their full potential.
