Centre for Community Initiative (CCI), in collaboration with Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC), Gospel Ministry for Disable India (GMFDI), District Social Welfare Office Churachandpur, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Legal Aid Clinic Pearsonmun, and Churachandpur District Disable Union (CDDU), organized a special event at Mercy Home, Kamdou Veng, Lamka to observe International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2023.
Celebrated under the theme “United in Action to Rescue and Achieve the SDGs for, with and by Persons with Disabilities,” the event highlighted the importance of inclusion, accessibility, and equal participation for persons with disabilities.
The program featured speeches from partner organizations and government representatives, emphasizing collective responsibility toward building an inclusive society. Students of Mercy Home also presented special performances showcasing their talents and abilities. The celebration concluded with games and activities for participating children, promoting joy, interaction, and community participation.
The event served as a meaningful platform to celebrate abilities, strengthen collaboration, and reaffirm the commitment toward empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring equal opportunities for all.
