The Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) marked a momentous milestone in disability welfare and community empowerment with the formal inauguration of the newly constructed Resource Centre for Divyangjan at the Malsawm Ability Resource Centre (MARC) campus in Pearsonmun, Churachandpur.

Built under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of the Airports Authority of India (AAI), this dedicated facility addresses the long-standing need for comprehensive, barrier-free infrastructure in the region. The centre will serve as a premier regional hub offering specialized therapeutic intervention, rehabilitation, inclusive education, and holistic welfare support for children and individuals with disabilities across Churachandpur district and surrounding areas.

The formal ceremony commenced at 12:00 noon, emceed by Mrs. Lily C. Tangpua (Psychologist, CCI), with accessible communication ensured throughout through live sign language interpretation by Ms. Ningthianching (Assistant Teacher, TMI). Pu Pauzagin Tonsing, Director of CCI, delivered the welcome address, tracing the journey of the initiative and reflecting on the transformative impact the new infrastructure will bring to the community.

The facility was officially inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Pu MKS Bordoloi, Regional Executive Director, Airports Authority of India (AAI), followed by a solemn prayer of dedication led by Rev. B. Chinkhengoupau, Youth Coordinator, Evangelical Baptist Convention (EBC). Adding warmth and joy to the occasion, students from The Malsawm Initiative (TMI) presented a special performance celebrating inclusion, ability, and hope. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Pu Pausuanlal Guite, Manager, MARC, expressing deep gratitude to AAI, community partners, educators, and families whose support made the milestone possible.

With the Resource Centre for Divyangjan now operational, CCI reaffirms its commitment to expanding accessible care, fostering self-reliance, and ensuring that every individual, regardless of ability, has the space and opportunity to thrive with dignity.
