Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) successfully concluded Project MindLink Barefoot Counsellor Training on July 17, 2026 at the Mini Auditorium, Gospel Centenary Hall, New Lamka, following three intensive weekly training sessions conducted on July 3, 10, and 17, 2026.
The training brought together 59 participants from diverse backgrounds, including pastors, reverends, community volunteers, and other community members. Through interactive sessions, participants gained practical knowledge and skills in mental health awareness, understanding stigma and culture, identifying individuals in need of support, basic psychosocial care, active listening, psychological first aid, and referral pathways. Upon completion of the programme, participants are now equipped to serve as Barefoot Counsellors, supporting mental well-being within their respective communities.
Project MindLink is a community-based mental health initiative of Centre for Community Initiative (CCI), supported by Petronet LNG Limited. The project aims to promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma, strengthen community support systems, and improve access to mental health services in and around Lamka.
CCI extends its sincere appreciation to the resource persons, coordinators, volunteers, and all participants whose dedication and commitment made the training a success. By strengthening the capacity of community members, Project MindLink is taking an important step towards building a more compassionate, inclusive, and mentally resilient community.
