On 29 May 2026, Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) conducted a training session on Neurodiversity and Physical Disabilities at Malsawm Ability Resource Centre (MARC), Pearsonmun, Lamka. The programme was attended by parents enrolled in CCI’s Early Intervention and Home-Based Care Programme.
The training aimed to enhance parents’ understanding of neurodiversity and physical disabilities while equipping them with practical knowledge and strategies to support their children's development within the home environment. Through interactive discussions, learning activities, and the sharing of experiences, participants gained a deeper understanding of the unique needs and strengths of children with disabilities.
The session also highlighted the important role that families play in promoting the growth, independence, and overall well-being of their children. Parents were encouraged to apply evidence-based approaches and positive caregiving practices that foster inclusive and nurturing environments.
CCI remains committed to empowering parents and caregivers through knowledge and capacity-building initiatives. By strengthening family support systems, the organisation seeks to improve developmental outcomes for children with disabilities and promote greater inclusion within the community.
The training forms part of CCI’s ongoing efforts to ensure that families are equipped with the resources, skills, and confidence needed to support every child's journey toward reaching their full potential.
