Department of Psychology, Rayburn College, in collaboration with Centre for Community Initiative (CCI), observed World Autism Awareness Day at Rayburn College Auditorium, Gangpimual, under the theme “Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value.”
The observance began with a Community Walk for Autism Awareness at 6:00 AM, bringing together students, educators, and community members in support of awareness, acceptance, and inclusion for persons with autism.
The awareness program continued at 10:30 AM with informative sessions on Autism Spectrum Disorder conducted by resource persons from CCI. The event also featured inspiring speeches and student performances that highlighted the importance of understanding and supporting neurodiverse individuals.
The program concluded with an autism screening session, during which more than 60 individuals registered for screening, reflecting growing awareness and the importance of early identification and intervention.
Through collaborative efforts such as these, CCI and Rayburn College continue to promote greater awareness, inclusion, and support for individuals with autism and their families.
