A Legal Awareness Programme was conducted at Happy Heart School, Bethel, on February 9, 2026, focusing on child rights protection under the POCSO Act, Juvenile Justice Act, and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act 2016.
The session featured Advocate Elin Luanngailian, who delivered an informative presentation on child protection laws under the POCSO and Juvenile Justice Acts, highlighting the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and wellbeing.
Mr. Paul Rozarlien, Coordinator (Advocacy), Centre for Community Initiative (CCI), facilitated a session on the RPwD Act 2016 and also conducted a visual impairment simulation activity to promote empathy, awareness, and understanding toward persons with disabilities.
The programme was organized by the CCI Legal Aid Clinic, Pearsonmun, under the NALSA ASHA Scheme 2026 in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Churachandpur, as part of ongoing efforts to promote legal awareness, child protection, and inclusion within the community.
