
International Day of Sign Languages 2025 was observed at the Rayburn College Auditorium through a collaborative initiative between Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) and Rayburn College.
The program highlighted the importance of inclusive communication and awareness of sign language for persons with hearing impairment. A special message was delivered by Ms. Khawlching, a Class X student of The Malsawm Initiative (TMI), who spoke about the significance of sign language and also introduced the audience to basic signs through an interactive session.
The event also marked the debut performance of The BandAbles, a group of visually impaired musicians, celebrating talent, inclusion, and artistic expression among persons with disabilities.
Another highlight of the program was the release of the music video “Hihtheihdan Tuam Chiat” by Khumlalven (Class X, TMI) and Ms. Chingnunhoih Guite. The video was officially launched by Rev. Dr. Khen P. Tombing, Principal of Rayburn College.
